With all the bustling about of this very busy Christmas season, I have decided to sponsor another child through Compassion International. When we think of Christmas, many people could define it as being a time for family and love. Yet, with this in mind, it has always boggled my mind that people get so crazy and violent when they shop. Please, define love and good will again for me...
I was watching a movie the other day called, "The Perfect Gift," where the main character said that when she thought of Christmas, the first thing that came to mind was "Retail Spike." How true is this? Is what we focus on, and how we define our Christmas is by the presents we give and receive.
What about when you think of the kids who live in poverty? My Christmas gift to a random child this year is a sponsorship so he/she can go to school and be supplied with things they need to survive. I gave someone a chance for a better life. I know I truly enjoy it when I get letters from my current sponsor child, and he tells me about his life and everything... it's so sweet and genuine. It's such a unique and happy feeling... to give to these children and know that you and truly helping them out. It's not that your money disappears and you never see it again, but you can actually see it working in these kids' lives.
